We were at the Go Ride games in Bradford on Saturday and Mandy Parker the lady who organises West Yorkshire Track League at Roundhay park mentioned there may be a new purpose built cycling track (not velodrome) near York next year.
Anybody know or hear abot this?
Any of the Go ride chaps know?

There is going to be a Cycle race Track at the Sports village at the University of York new campus east which is just near the Hull Road park and ride.

I went to take a look at the complex a couple of days ago the gym, swimming pools, and astro turf pitches are all finished now but there is no sign of the cycling track yet.

Its a closed circuit cycle loop for want of a better way to describe it part funded by York Council, the University and BCF. Kind of a funny shape and aimed at encouraging people to try cycling in a safe environment as oppose racing. At least it was the last time I saw the plans.
