Post by lugster77 »

Does anybody know of any decent online (or otherwise) resources for turbo training sets/routines etc ? For general fitness and progressing to more tt specific stuff when the winter closes in :)
Many thanks

Three useful sites:-

http://ezinearticles.com/?Top-5-Cycling ... id=3252462 - a collection of workouts, all of no more than an hour, which you can use within a training programme. I'm doing threshold intervals and muscular endurance intervals now, and will progress to 5x4's and velmax sessions as the season gets nearer.

http://www.flammerouge.je/content/3_fac ... drills.htm - Tony Williams' Flamme Rouge site is all pretty useful. His training drills provide a bit of turbo variety if you're in need, but a lot of the background reading is worth taking in too.

http://www.abcc.co.uk/Articles/wright1.html - aimed at timetrialling and written by Dangermouse's coach. Not aimed at the turbo, but as a pre-season follow-up to other training to give you that last few percent.

Main thing is that all of the turbo sessions are fairly short but very focussed - generally under an hour including warm-up. You should never get bored on the turbo - if you can't focus for 20mins, then you're not going to have a lot of fun doing a ten!
