WTD: old Road drive and rear wheel

Shift that old kit, or those un-wanted presents, or see if anyone else has something you're looking for.

WTD: old Road drive and rear wheel

Post by JamesClayden »

I am thinking of putting together an old bike for commuting and i have bits floating around but think i need:-

Rear Wheel (something heavier duty as will have a rack)
Cassette
Chain
Rear mech
Shifters/leavers
An old set of 26mm bars.

I have very little to spend on this but expect very little too and old 9 speed stuff that has been striped of a winter bike would be perfect.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Pretty sure I have most of the bits you need in my 'cave' except chain and cassette.

I'm assuming it's road stuff you're after?

The levers I have are Shimano RSX (circa '97) which are only 7 speed.

I'm sure I'll have a mech too if I rummage.

The wheels are fairly serviceable, cheap 700c which should be fine for light loads.

Yes it is road stuff i am after.

I would really like to try and get it 9 speed, i have more spare stuff for that. i have actually found a rear mech but need a front one, 28.6 band mount.
It will only be light loads, i am guessing the wheels is 9 speed cassette. Can you e-mail me info on the wheel and if you front mech or bars.

if the wheel works out my list now is

Bars
9 speed shifters
front mech 28.6 band
cassettee and chain (i know i will be luck to find them)
