Hi

Can we have some detail of the cost please? I might do the karting but would prefer to join for food only later. What is the plan??

Thanks

Karting will be £20 each and last about an hour and a half. It will be great fun and well worth it imho.

I booked a table at the Jaipur on haxby road for 8.30. If you want to join us there thats fine.
If you want to toddle into town from there you can leave your car (at your own risk!) for £3.

Looks like we might have a little competition from YMC too.

Doh! I have a works bash at kennedy's bar the same day but would like to hook up with you all if you go into town after your curry. Can someone send me a text of where you are - I think most of you have my mobile number.
Enjoy the karting and ruby!

Sounds like fun... I'll be up for both the karting and curry!

Please add me for karting and a curry and most probably several drinks in town afterwards! Would someone be able to give me a lift from the karting venue to the Indian? Thanks.

Hi

Book me in for the curry - I might come and cheer you on at the Karting but want to avoid any further injuries as I'm racing that weekend

Cheers

Karting is Full!

Post by willowtrousers »

Hi racers,

I had booked karting for 10, and have now filled all those places. The following people have confirmed:

Me (well yeah!), Paul C, Gill C, Lilly, Gully, Rich, Jez, Steph F, AnotherPaul, and Dan.

If you're not on the list and want to come let me know asap I may be able to add more folks.
Sorry to say, there is no positive response from the Ramblers society as yet...

I've assumed everyone karting is also currying and have booked a couple of extra places, again let me know.

If you can all bring £20 cash on the night that would be easier than posting checks etc.

I will be mailing out some safety info shortly. I can't wait! :D

Driver info...

Post by willowtrousers »

All drivers should read this:

DRIVERS CHECKLIST
ARRIVAL & BRIEFING
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time, any driver who arrives
particularly late and subsequently misses the drivers briefing will be excluded
from participating for safety reasons and no refund will be given. If participants
arrive late for the booking the race time may be reduced accordingly.
EQUIPMENT & SAFETY
We provide racesuits, full face helmets and gloves for all competitors. It is
advisable to wear comfortable clothing under the racesuits, and footwear should
be either trainers or rubber-soled shoes (no high heels please). In hot weather
shorts and T-shirts are recommended, whilst in the winter it can be chilly in the
karting arena, and it is well worth wearing warmer clothes.
DISCLAIMERS
Motorsport can be dangerous. Despite F1 Racing taking reasonable precautions,
unavoidable accidents can happen. In respect of these you are present at your
own risk, and all drivers have to sign a disclaimer to this effect.
ALCOHOL & MEDICATION
It is not advisable for anyone who has recently consumed alcohol, taken
medication with side-effects, or other drugs to compete. F1 Racing reserves the
right to bar drivers for these reasons, and no refunds will be given. Any driver
who is suspected of consuming any alcohol prior to racing will be refused
admission.
HEALTH
Anyone likely to contract symptoms associated with asthma, epilepsy or heart
complaints should consult their doctor before competing. Karting is also not
recommended for people suffering from neck or back problems.
CATERING
We can offer you a choice of several excellent menus for exclusive events
(numbers should be confirmed 7 days in advance)
DISABLED FACILITIES
Wheelchair access and disabled toilets are available.
AGE & HEIGHT
Pertol Karts: Minimum height – 1.45 Meters (4 feet 9 inch) Minimum age:10
Kub Karts : Minimum height – N/A Minimum age:4

WillowT - really sorry to advise but I'm 100% disabled!! My knee op yesterday was more serious than expected and am on crutches/non weight bearing for an as yet undefined period... thus can't kart, or in fact do very much at all... Boo hiss.
Hopefully someone will take my place on the karting, if not and stuffs the funds let me know and I'll reimburse you so you're not out of pocket. I'll let you know re the curry nearer the time...
